Saas-Fee
| Saas-Fee is a small town of 1600 habitants, located at an elevation of 1800m
in the middle of the swiss Alps. In April, the temperature might easily fall below zero, and snow falls are not rare in that period. Therefore take some warm clothes and good shoes with you (you will have to walk a little bit to reach the conference center). |

Reaching Saas-Fee by plane or train

Saas-Fee can is connected to the world via a mountain road which starts in the town of Visp, Rhône valley, Canton of Valais.
The easiest way to reach Saas-Fee is to take a train to Visp or Brig, and then by postal bus to Saas-Fee (Busterminal). Take the bus number 511 in front of the Visp or Brig train station. For the train and bus timetable, please take a look at the SBB-CFF-FFS web site. The international airports of Zürich, Geneva, Basel, or Milan offer excellent train connections to Visp or Brig (the journey takes about two and a half hours). From there, the postal bus will bring you in about one hour to Saas-Fee. |
By car
| The road connecting Visp to Saas-Fee (26km) brings you from 658m up to
an elevation of 1800m. It is a nice and safe road, but remains a mountain road! In April be ready to face snowy or icy conditions!
If you use your own vehicle, be sure that you are well equipped with snow-tires and have the snow-chains ready! In Saas-Fee, vehicles are banned. A large car park is available at the entrance of the town (the price is about 20CHF per day). |
